Highfalutin $29 Burger Joint to take CBGB's spot?

It's been nine long months since iconic music venue CBGB packed it in on the Bowery. Now, comes chef Daniel Boulud to co-opt commemorate the fallen venue with a new restaurant, now in the planning stages, bearing the name DBGB—short for Daniel Boulud Good Burger or, as we're inclined to call it, Damn Boulud's Got Balls, given the $29 hamburger he plans to serve.

If the above photo illustration doesn't make it clear enough, the new resto will be situated firmly inside the Avalon Bowery Place apartment complex, with views across the Liz Chrystie Garden to its south.

The new Bowery—Jesus, what a trip.

nyc has been dead for a while now...

this is just another addition to the rising yippster disgrace that is forcing out, the real people who have lived here their whole lives, economically & socially...

you wanna see something interesting that is not mentioned here. look at the [supposed] menu for DB's:

pretty pricey if you ask me. pretty much catered to "upscale" dinning and socialites...

even CB's has turned into a parody of itself with it's posh boutique on st. marks, of which tourist [who have no idea what CB's was], purchase cute t-shirts for the teens to wear [who have also never had an idea to what this CBGB's even is]. and i'm not even going to get into how much of a tragedy st. marks has become, but that happened a long time ago. the closing of coney island high, was just a sign of things to come and most people [who at least have a clue] are only starting to notice now...

like i said, nyc is in a pretty sad state of affairs. wake up...
