1. To be completely and honestly serious.
2. A reply used by people who have been questioned on the truth of their comment.
3. To be truthful and not lie.
4. A truncation of the phrase "dead ass serious"; example:

"Yo, son I just won the lottery!"
"Get the fuck outta here..."
"Nah son... yo, dead ass"

Now I'm down with the street slang, but hearing someone say "Yo, dead ass son, dead ass" is just hysterical and retarded.
