Unlicensed Bouncer Violations Soar in NYC
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- State authorities are keeping a closer eye on who's keeping order at New York City clubs.

The State Liquor Authority writes up bars and clubs it says are employing unlicensed bouncers. The agency has issued 83 of those violations in New York City so far this year, more than three times as many as in all of last year.

Bouncers have to be licensed with the state. Requirements include not having any felony convictions.

The liquor authority started tracking violations after a graduate student Imette St. Guillen was abducted, raped and killed in February '06 after a night out at The Falls (Lafayette just south of Spring). Darryl Littlejohn, an unlicensed bouncer at the bar was charged in her death.
