I hate Kathy Griffin but I'll give her a +1 for this

via Tony @ Tarp...

Say what you want about Kathy Griffin, but at least she had the cojones to not thank Jesus for her recent Emmy Award. Actually, she did a little more than that. From the Associated Press (emphasis added):

"In her speech, Griffin said that “a lot of people come up here and thank Jesus for this award. I want you to know that no one had less to do with this award than Jesus.”

She went on to hold up her Emmy, make an off-colour remark about Christ and proclaim, “This award is my god now!”
Well, that “off-color remark” was a little blurb that went like this: “Suck it, Jesus.” And it also won’t be heard by anyone watching the show this Saturday night. Her acceptance speech is going to be abbreviated because of her “offensive remarks.”

I think it sucks that she is being censored, but not at all surprised. Some douchebag from the Catholic League called her words a “vulgar, in-your-face brand of hate speech.”

Question: Is it really hate speech if you don’t even believe in the existence of the being you are supposedly insulting? I mean, its not like we are going to see a quote from JC himself later, saying something like: “You know, I totally did everything for Kathy and this is the thanks I get? I mean, Curt Shilling really needed me during a few of his starts this year, but I blew him off for Kathy’s show. I mean, the nerve of this broad!”

And in gossip news, Kathy is dating Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple.
