Growing Up In Liberia Safer Than Staten Island Ghetto

A story from The Times about a mother who shipped her son off to Liberia, a war-ravaged nation in West Africa, because she felt it would be a better environ than the Park Hill Projects in Clifton.

If you refer to page 34 of your Wu-Tang lexicon, Park Hill Housing Projects were referred to as both Killer Hill and Crack Hill. A few of the Wu Tang dudes grew up in these Clifton projects.

Park Hill is mentioned in the song Gravel Pit: "From Park Hill, the house on haunted hill/ Every time you walk by, your back get a chill."
