Shootout at a book party

A man was fatally shot and another man critically wounded early Sunday when revelers spilled out of a Seattle restaurant after a party for two authors who penned a biography about Dr. Dre.

Authors Bruce Williams and Donnell Alexander, who wrote “Rollin’ with Dre: The Unauthorized Account,” were in Seattle for a reading and book-signing Saturday afternoon at the Southcenter Barnes & Noble bookstore. Later, there was an after-party for Williams and Alexander at Gordon’s on the Green.

The shots were fired in the parking lot outside the restaurant at 2:07 a.m., as the party was breaking up. Officers discovered two victims: a 24-year-old Renton man, who died from gunshot wounds soon after arriving at Harborview and a 25-year-old Skyway man, who is in critical condition, Murphy said.”
