Marilyn Capote?

After attending the funeral of her former acting coach in 1955, Marilyn Monroe famously spent the rest of the day wandering around downtown with Truman Capote.

His experience with Monroe that day – downing champagne, trading dark confessions, watching the “platinum sex explosion” freak out – became fodder for a short non-fiction story called “A Beautiful Child.” A stage adaptation of the piece was a success at last month’s Fringe Festival; it’s been extended for two-week run that begins tonight.

@ SoHo Playhouse {15 Vandam St} $18 / 9 PM
